Deaf Spotlight On: Sergio Peña

Sergio Peña is the first person in the Nation to be Dually Certified in Both LSM and ASL.

Sergio Peña, born in Los Angeles, CA, is a dual citizen of both the US and Mexico. He currently possesses a NIC certification (2008) in the US through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). Mr. Pena has also obtained his LSM/Spanish Interpreting certification in 2010 through the Consejo Nacional de Normatividad y Certificación in Mexico. Event Followup: S.O.S 15th Anniversary

Over 150 people attended Deaf Services (S.O.S) anniversary dinner party. The party was held this past Saturday the 18th at San Gabriel College.

After a delicious meal, a local group of ASL performers known as “Hands Performance Group” or “HPC” entertained the audience with an array of popular songs, going from romance to comedy and in between.

MATA Expo 2010 Follow Up

Over 4,000 people attended the MATA event on November 5th and 6th held in Ontario, California. Attendees came to the Gracias VRS and ASL Services booths to learn more about our companies. Everyone was impressed with the multilingual services and the quality of our interpreters.
